SeaTel 2406

OceanWeb have recently completed a new IT communications and satcom system onboard a 41m MY.

The Captain contacted us at the beginning of the year with some very specific requirements - namely high speed VSAT but with a small compact dome - as it was inpractical to install a normal SeaTel 4006 Antenna due to both the size of the dome and length of the yacht.

Instead OceanWeb supplied a SeaTel 2406 KU-band antenna which has a compact 60cm dish in a 87cm radome & an 8W BUC. The full IT system supplied also included a YachtSpot off vessel WiFi plus external antenna, Iridium telephone system, GSM booster, Ericsson GSM/3G FCT and a LiveWire FB-10 Pro Access Controller. A VoIP router was also supplied in conjunction with single VoIP number.

The new system allows the Captain to experience the freedom of a VSAT system with unlimited data at a fixed month cost.
