OceanWeb Supply High Performance GSM Boosters

After 12 months of successful trials onboard a 52m Yacht, OceanWeb have been commissioned to supply and install a quad-band GSM booster / repeater system onboard a new 56m Perini Navi. This system addresses the universal problem of poor GSM reception when onboard a yacht, especially within the lower decks and engine room.

The system comprises of two dual-band boosters and a bank of repeaters, covering both the European and the rest of the world frequencies of 900/1800MHz and also the USA frequencies of 800/1900MHz.

The boosted signal is then run throughout the yacht via high-performance coax and delivered through ceiling mounted antennas.

In real tests, a mobile phone, located in the engine control room, showed an increase from 38% to 74% signal strength.
