It’s been an exciting month of travel for the team here at OceanWeb as we enjoy another busy November!

Travel to FLIBS

To kick off the month, technical support engineer Will Price, and marketing executive, Suzy Manton, travelled to Florida for the 60th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat show. And what a show it was! Affectionately known as FLIBS, this exciting festival of all things boats and yachting is known to be a highlight of the industry calendar, and this year was no exception. As well as all the usual glitz and glamour, the addition of the Superyacht Village at Pier 66 was a great expansion for the festival. Even if it did mean we had to spend a little more time commuting between there and the Bahia Mar!

Training Travel

The newest member of the engineering team, Aaron Hicks, has just spent a week in Liverpool alongside fellow engineer Jake Ferris, completing some additional VSAT training with Just ETOs. The pair then headed off for yet more training – this time a week-long in depth course in AV. These trips might not sound quite as exciting as the boat shows, but are essential travel nonetheless. We place immense value in the ongoing training and education for our team. This is to ensure they’re always armed with the necessary knowledge to tackle any issues that they might face both onsite completing installs and when providing vital remote support to our clients.

Technical Support Trips

It’s also been another busy month with regards to active support trips. The first week of November saw engineers Josh Brand and Tom Poole with a client in San Remo carrying out another VSAT install. Josh and Aaron then headed off for even more travel, this time to Cartagena to perform an IT survey on one of our new client vessels.

Directors Ben and Sara Hextall, are heading over to Amsterdam later this month for METS 2019. As always, if you would like to arrange a meeting, you can send an email to info@oceanweb.com.
